With roots tracing back to the Summer of 2004, Embient's style has taken a clear and distinct road towards their goal. What originally started as a free time project, Embient has developed into something that is taking Arizona and the nation by storm.
The original release of Embient's 'For What It's Worth' hit local airwaves in Spring of 2005 on KUPD's Red Radio Underground. With fan favorites such as 'Without You' and 'Dynamics' this EP caught the ear of many listeners. Brian Meyer and Seth Terrillion took the stage as bassist and drummer to complete this original lineup of musicians. The four have performed in many Arizona venues such as Alice Cooperstown, Venue of Scottsdale, Mardi Gras, Neckbeards, and Modified. After many months of great, energetic performances, bassist Brian Meyer left the band for personal reasons. Good friend of the band Chris Satterlund soon took the stage as bassist and brought a vital ingredient to the the band - his pure insanity. Satterlund's songwriting ideas and image greatly influenced and defined the rock sound that Embient represents.
Embient's first full length album ' A Way Of Life' hit the public in January of 2006. Through the internet, word of mouth and CD distribution, this debut full length cd had easily reached tens of thousands of listeners across the country. The wildfire of music that the four had set could not be extinguished. The band had started to become known for its highly energetic live performances and free music policy.
The followings seemed to drastically expand after the band's first few showcases of the new material. Months passed as the four worked diligently to achieve progress, but it was soon to be mutually decided that Embient's percussion section was to be replaced due to conflicting values in musical interest.
The man they call Smitty was the brand new piece to the band. His incredibly fast chops and dedicated leadership role clicked with the band immediately. Bringing all the right sounds to the mix, Embient had finally started becoming the sound they had the potential to be. Stronger and more versatile then ever, Embient is currently working on a brand new untitled EP. The future of this rock project looks promising, as it continues to grow and improve over time.
